In maritime context, equipment refers to any physical object or device used on board a vessel to facilitate navigation, communication, safety, or any other operation related to the vessel's function. This includes but is not limited to, radar systems, GPS devices, radios, lifeboats, fire extinguishers, anchors, ropes, and winches. Proper maintenance and inspection of equipment is crucial to ensure the safety of the crew and the vessel. In addition, equipment must meet international standards and regulations set by organizations such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS).
